Thoughtfulness and Kindness
Day #19: 100 Happy Days
--
The last few days (or, weeks) have been busy playing the catch up game. Yet, I am excited by this commitment of finding and sharing about little things that make me happy, against my resistance and worry of how others will perceive it. These things, definitely, are creating a shift in MY perception (and, that’s the whole point) and making me value smaller things in life so much more. If only this benefits one more person and makes them see just one happy thing in life at the moment, I would have unlocked a big part of the potential of this challenge.
What made me happy today?
The painting in the picture above and the whole event that it was a part of.
Sid (my husband) and I welcomed our second wedding anniversary two weekends ago. We were at a conference and could not celebrate it with full thrills. We couldn’t even savor a cake but managed to have dinner together. Fast forward two weeks later, this weekend my mentor and his wife invited us for lunch. They remembered about our anniversary and got us a delicious cake and gifted us this hand-painted art. We put it up in our house minutes after coming back.
In the longest time, this has been the most adorable, thoughtful, kind, and loving gesture that I (and Sid) have experienced. We were so surprised and touched that we didn’t even know how to react. Having such thoughtful and kind people in my life is such a blessing, one that I am truly grateful for. I couldn’t have asked for more. Now, I will remember our special day for the loveliest of two people. It takes a big heart to be them.
PS: This article is a part of the 100 Happy Days series where I have committed to writing about simple things in life that bring me happiness and joy. Hoping that this experiment will help me cultivate a deeper relationship with myself. If you like it, please follow the list in the link above. Deeply appreciated!
