Day #30: 100 Happy Days

Fri*yay* indeed. This very eventful day today started with some news regarding a fabulous plan for an upcoming vacation. Later, I centered myself to get to work. It was easy since I love my job — it is like painting to me. There were little spurts of small fun conversations with my husband, which were all targeted about a hypothetical future. As we were chatting over coffee, I saw a huge cruise ship cross the river that we can see from our apartment. It was huge. I was in awe. I pointed it to my husband and he asked me — You would have seen this ship almost over 100 times now. How can you still be surprised?
And that was true. The same cruise ship crosses once every two weeks and I have seen it too many times to still be in awe. Like a child. The conversation made me reflect on the importance of wonder in everyday life — there’s nothing worth losing your wonder for. We all have an inner child in us and its great it comes up to say hello time and again. And, its so unique. Hand-crafted by the universe specially for you! Of course life happens and we push our inner child behind. We adult. During my reflections, I questioned —
Why do we forget to live in wonder?
